recurve bow - why?
i think recurve is the one i mean.
i mean the one that takes forever to reach the target due to a huge arc made by the arrow. my question is: why should i use this weapon when it is so easilly dodge-able and takes so long to hit? |

you describe a FlatBow.
Why use FlatBow:? - targets not moving or aggro-ed take the hit (great for pulling and initial Poisoning) - arrow flight is long time, but recharge among fastest, so fires at the rate of a shortbow I use a Poisonous Flatbow of Marksmanship (15%^50 health, Marks +1 @ 20%) with ApplyPoison (Oath Shot as my elite) to 'pull' that small mob. Why Marksmanship? 20% chance to add additional dmg when it takes that hit AND gets poisoned AND 15% extra dmg AND 20% extra dmg when customized = not a very bad Aggro Shot. Basic Bow Principles: Short/Half Moon = quickshot build Flat/Long/Storm = pulling or from a safer distance Composite/Recurve/Dead/Shadow = interuptor build Horn/Ivory = purely for heavy melee armored mobs (warrior class), slow bow, heavy hit |

Flatbows have the range of a longbow and the attack speed of a shortbow
tho the flight time is long... under RtW or Fav. Winds the Flatbow is the "best" bow |
